The Iwaki IX metering pump is a digitally controlled stepper motor-driven dosing pump combining precision, versatility, and a 750:1 turndown ratio.
The IX series are digitally controlled stepper motor-driven metering pumps which span the application range between small solenoid & conventional motorised metering pumps. Their electronically controlled direct-drive stepper motor provides an extremely wide capacity range. Up to 750:1 capacity turndown is possible while retaining ±1% accuracy and virtually constant chemical injection, even at low flows.a smooth flow characteristic.
Materials
Wetted materials are PTFE, PVdF with ceramic or 316 s/steel to handle virtually all common water treatment chemicals.
Control Modes
The IX can operate in various automatic modes including external proportional pulse, analague 4-20mA, preset batch or interval batch. Flow detection and failure alarm, flow readout in either litres/hr or strokes/min. This model also features a motor overload and diaphragm rupture sensor with two relay outputs, selectable from a preset menu, allowing the operator to customize alarm output signals. The IX also features data logging capabilities including operating time, total flow volume, power on time and number of On/Off’s. Suction stroke speeds are adjustable through 4 speeds (100%, 75%, 50% and 25%) for cavitation prevention when pumping viscous liquids.
Capacities
Three sizes cover from 0.08 to 300l/hr at discharge pressures up to 10 bar.
Flexible Installation
The controller with backlit LCD display can be mounted in several different positions according to operator preference. Screwed connections are standard, with ANSI flanges also available.
Iwaki IX Metering Pump — Overview
The Iwaki IX metering pump bridges the gap between small solenoid-driven dosing pumps and conventional motorised metering pumps. Its electronically controlled direct-drive stepper motor delivers an extremely wide capacity range with up to 750:1 turndown, while maintaining ±1% dosing accuracy and virtually constant chemical injection — even at very low flow rates.
Key Features
- 750:1 Capacity Turndown — The Iwaki IX metering pump achieves one of the widest turndown ratios available, enabling a single pump to cover both low and high flow requirements without changing equipment.
- ±1% Dosing Accuracy — Digitally controlled stepper motor ensures precise, repeatable chemical injection critical for water treatment and process control.
- Smooth Flow Characteristic — Near-continuous chemical injection at all flow rates eliminates the pulsation issues common with solenoid-driven pumps.
- Multiple Automatic Control Modes — External proportional pulse, analogue 4-20mA, preset batch, and interval batch modes enable seamless integration with any control system.
- Flow Detection & Failure Alarm — Built-in flow detection and alarm output for process safety monitoring.
- Chemical Compatible Materials — PTFE and PVDF wetted materials with ceramic or 316 stainless steel, suited to virtually all common water treatment chemicals.
Applications
The Iwaki IX metering pump is the preferred choice for water and wastewater treatment chemical dosing, cooling tower water treatment, swimming pool and aquatic centre chlorine dosing, and industrial process chemical injection where precise, variable flow control is required.
