The Iwaki MDM magnetic drive pump — alongside MXM & MDE — represents heavy duty industrial magnetic drive centrifugal pumps covering the majority of industrial applications. Excellent chemical resistance, robust construction and simple maintenance are features of all these series.
Materials
Carbonfibre reinforced ETFE fluoropolymer wetted parts with alumina ceramic or SiC shaft & high density carbon, alumina ceramic or SiC bearings. Virgin PFA is available for higher liquid temperatures & a wider range of chemical resistance.
Resistance to abnormal or improper operation
All models have Iwaki’s patented Non-Contact System & Self Radiation bearing structure for greatly increased tolerance to improper operation such as short term dry running and cavitation.
Connections
All models have ANSI flanged connections as standard, with ISO flanges optional.
316 stainless baseplates are standard fitment to allow back pull-out for ease of maintenance.
Capacities
MDM has 7 models covering capacities from 1.2m3/hr up to 84m3/hr and maximum heads to 75m.
Motors
All models are fitted with standard IP66 rated outdoor industrial motors.
Iwaki MDM Magnetic Drive Pump — Overview
The Iwaki MDM magnetic drive pump is a heavy duty industrial sealless centrifugal pump designed for the most demanding chemical transfer applications. Built with carbon fibre reinforced ETFE (CFRETFE) fluoropolymer wetted parts and optional virgin PFA, the MDM series handles nearly all industrial chemicals including strong acids, alkalis, and solvents.
Key Features
- CFRETFE & PFA Wetted Parts — Carbon fibre reinforced ETFE provides outstanding chemical resistance and mechanical strength. Virgin PFA option extends compatibility to higher temperatures and more aggressive chemicals.
- Non-Contact Self-Radiating Bearing — Iwaki’s patented bearing system delivers greatly increased tolerance to dry running and cavitation, protecting the pump during process upsets.
- ANSI Flanged Connections — Standard ANSI flanges with optional ISO flanges suit most industrial pipework configurations.
- 316 Stainless Steel Baseplate — Standard 316SS baseplates with back pull-out design allow easy maintenance without disconnecting pipework.
- Alumina Ceramic & SiC Bearings — Multiple bearing material options ensure optimal performance across different chemical environments.
Technical Specifications
The Iwaki MDM magnetic drive pump range covers capacities up to 1,500 litres per minute with heads up to 120 metres, making it suitable for large-scale industrial chemical processing. Available in single and multistage configurations with standard industrial motor interfaces.
Applications
The MDM series is specified for chemical manufacturing, mining acid transfer, water treatment chemical dosing, electroplating, semiconductor wet processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Its heavy duty construction and broad chemical compatibility make it the pump of choice for critical industrial processes in Australia.
